Competency Discussion

For your Competency Discussion, consider how paying for healthcare has changed since the last generation or your parents’ generation. Then reflect on how those changes have affected the behavior of those seeking healthcare and their ability to pay for it and why. Finally, explore whether the attempts of current legislation to make healthcare affordable and accessible to all have been effective.

To begin this Competency and meet your engagement requirement, post in the Discussion area a brief description of how your healthcare setting is funded and how it impacts the delivery of care in your healthcare setting.
